Who Likes Contests?

After digging through the ol' #pdxbeergeeks schwag box, we found a $25 gift certificate to Vintage Cocktail Lounge that was suppose to be raffled off at our anniversary event. In light of this, it seems like a good time to have a contest here on the blog.

Winning is easy!  All you need to do is comment here on this blog post with -
  1. One of your favorite beers, and
  2. Your favorite place to hang out in PDX and drink beer.
Rules
  • Contest will run through Monday August 20th until midnight PST.
  • Winner will be randomly selected and announced Tuesday August 21st here on this blog post. You will have three days to respond in order to win. If not another random post will be chosen.
  • Only one post per individual, multiple posts will be tossed out.
  • Must live in Oregon or SW Washington to enter.
See I told you it was easy! Let the games commence. Good luck!

  1. I enjoy a Luscious Lupalin while sitting on the patio at Migration Brewing on NE Glisan. :)

  2. One of my favorite beers is Alaskan Brewing's Smoked Porter! I have been known to buy a case every year and age it. Just drank the last bottle of 2007 the other night. Delicious!

I'd say right now my favorite place to hang out and drink beer is Hopworks. Yummy beer and food, nice servers, good people-watching, and they fulfill my need to watch Olympics, as I don't have television.

I looooveee Vintage Cocktail Lounge, so fingers crossed I win, darn it!

  5. Boneyard Skunkape IRA.

I usually drink at home, but I hear that Justin the bartender at Vintage is very nice.

  6. Love the Black Butte Porter - And love to drink it anywhere in Portland but if I must choose one place I love the Horsebrass.

  7. Cascade's Bourbonic Plague, and wandering the taps at the Horse Brass or Apex is great. The Mellow Mushroom is by far favorite because of the food and great beer selection.

  8. I agree with the first post that Migrayion's patio is the vest place to enjoy a beer... My favorite beers right now are Hopworks' single-hopped IPX series

  10. I would be meditating, naked, on top of the cast iron elephants in Pearl park. My beer of choice would have to be a Knee Deep Simtra Triple IPA ;)

  12. Tangerine wheat beer from Fire on the Mountain is m favorite beer these days. And I've got to go with Billy Ray's Dive Bar as my favorite place to enjoy a beer. They don't exactly have a good selection, but that place is a gem.

  15. At this very moment it's between Cascade's Live Diesel at Cascade, or Gigantic's City Never Sleeps at Gigantic!

  16. One of my favorite beers is Everybody's Brewing Common Ale. It's lighter, has a nice, crisp hop character, and is drinkable both in on the hottest summer afternoon and the gloomiest winter evening.

And my favorite place to drink beer is at Apex in the Fall when it's rainy and everybody has gone someplace else.

  17. Right now I'm digging Boneyard's RPM IPA. And I like to enjoy it at Mash Tun Brew Pub. :)

  18. One of my favorite beers is Goose Island's Matilda. And I love it even more when I can find it on draft from time to time. And my favorite place to drink in Portland is Bailey's Taproom.

  19. I really like Ft. George's Vortex IPA. I get it at Saraveza when it's on tap. Love that place!

  20. One of my favorites is Pyramid's Outburst Imperial IPA. The teeth rattle with hops and has enough alcohol to bring a hobo to his/her knees. I drink it at my favorite place, which is home.

  21. Awesome.

    1) One of my favorite beers is good old Anchor Steam, it is just a classic. It is my go to beer when all else fails, it comforts me and always puts a smile on my face. Anchor Steam is like a good book, a favorite movie or some comfy pants. I just know what I love and I love anchor steam, it never disappoints. Great color, nice flavor, beautiful smell and the best part is, I love it on a hot day or a cold winter night. To bring it all together, the label and bottle design are a smart choice, I love the print work done on the thick paper label.

    2) Amnesia Brewing so far is my favorite place to hang out and drink beer in PDX. I love the patio and I love the beer. Such a great place to soak up the sun.

  23. Contest over or not, I wanted to throw my 2 cents in. One of my favorite beers & drinking spots? So many to choose from... how about a delicious CDA like Oakshire O'Dark:30. Also, Caps & Corks has become one of my favorite spots to have a pint these days. Cheers!

    Congratulations to Andrea Buck.

I think my calendar is broken or something.

  25. I'll take the total blame on this. The contest was only meant to run through last weekend, and I don't know how to use a calendar. I'll extend the contest through the 20th. So keep entering away!!

  26. Nothing beats a homebrew in the backyard. I'll go with a big hoppy red ale and a lawn chair any day. Especially the rare sunny day in PDX.

  27. Homebrew in the backyard is best. However when I venture out, The BeerMongers with a cold Uinta Dubhe is hard to beat.

  28. I'm changing my answer to Astoria's Bitter Bitch at Plew's Brews.

  29. Blue Dot at the Horsebrass on Wednesday nights. Why Wednesday? Why not? Always end up having more than one and I love every minute of it.

Sorry for all the confusion. I promise to do better next time. I do have some more prizes in the works. :) Thanks for playing!
