Hometown: Detroit
Favorite Beer: Lately, Occidental Hefe, but anything sessionable does it for me like a solid pale ale (like Walking Man Pale Strider) or pils (like Victory Prima Pils).
Favorite Beer Haunt: I'm at the Grain and Gristle several nights a week as I co-own it, and when I get out my favorites are Breakside and Roscoe's.
What was the first craft brew you ever tried? What did you think? Bells Porter. It was absolutely delicious and I still enjoy it every trip back to Michigan.
Do you homebrew? If yes, favorite homebrew to date: Haven't homebrewed for over three years, but my favorite back then was a fresh hopped brown ale using a grip of Goshie farms willamettes and good old 1056!
How’d you hear about the pdxbeergeeks? From several members at various beer events.
What does being a beer geek mean to you? Nothing more than simply enjoying beer and craft brewing culture.
If you could change one thing about beer culture in the US, what would it be? I wish people were a bit more open, even many beer geeks. I'm a firm believer in taking every beer on its own.
What do you love about Portland’s Craft Beer scene? Seemingly limitless bars and breweries, the options are too good to be true. You don't need to seek out anything else.
