After visiting Portland, and falling in love with the city, Jim and Cindy Waters relocated from North Carolina. In October of 2011 a new-to-Portland restaurant opened in the the Pearl District, the first
Mellow Mushroom on the west coast. Its origins are firmly embedded in the southern U.S. When I mention Mellow to other people, they get really excited to hear one has finally opened in town. Its fun environment and relaxed atmosphere will do very well in its location. The grand opening is set for May 2012.
After going here for the first time almost a month ago to check it out, I've been back several time, enjoying each and every visit. It's worth the trip downtown to try it out. In fact feel free to join us with #pdxbeergeeks this Saturday April 21st from 3-6pm for a family friendly event. Mellow Mushroom has graciously offered up $2 pints, free pizza, and a free beer mug to the first fifty people in attendance. Hope to see you all there!
