Interview Series: Meet the Geeks: Joe Drury
Hometown: Pittsfield, MA
Favorite Beer: The Bourbonic Plague/Pliny the Elder - Can’t choose just one!
Favorite Beer Haunt: Cascade Barrel House. But the Horse Brass and Beer Mongers are a close second.
What was the first craft brew you ever tried? What did you think? Magic Hat #9. I thought it was awesome.
Do you homebrew? If yes, favorite homebrew to date: I do. Extract, of course. Recently did an oak aged English style IPA that I am quite fond of.
How’d you hear about the pdxbeergeeks? Twitter?
What does being a beer geek mean to you? Passion!
If you could change one thing about beer culture in the US, what would it be? It would be great if more places had a beer culture like Portland. I wouldn’t change a thing about this place (Portland) in that respect.
What do you love about Portland’s Craft Beer scene? The passion, knowledge and creativity. Where else can you go to a beer fest nearly every week for most of the year?
Where can we find you on the web? On my blog, Pliny the Drury
We'll be featuring different Beer Geeks through the blog, so if you're a #pdxbeergeek and you're interested in being featured, let us know!
